A project for our History & Futures module focusing on Society & Purpose.
Using graphic design to visualise data from a chosen story or narrative.

The Story:
My chosen story was the Essex Lorry Deaths of Vietnamese citizens on 23 October 2019. In the BBC Two documentary 'Hunting the Essex Lorry Killers' revealed more than 1,3000 Essex police officers were involved in the case, one of the UK's biggest ever police investigations.
A False Promise memorialises and focuses on the lives of Vietnamese citizens who were trafficked under the false promise of a better life in the United Kingdom.

The Process:
Re-watching the documentary made me want to sympathetically create a visualisation that had a limited the use of words/languages and the emotion I felt after seeing the diagram of where each person was positioned and recorded in the truck for evidence.
To create the design for the poster, each graphic represents a name, gender, age and province that makes up their identity.
